Food, Music, and Fun for All! MD Art Festival

We are very pleased to announce that we will be doing the Stonefence Gardens Arts and Crafts Festival and hope that if you are looking for a fun way to spend a weekend, you'll join us and stop by the Miller Modern Art Booth to say hello.

The show is outdoors in a beautifully wooded area; the whole place has a Native American feel to it. There's a gift shop located on the property with a great deal of handmade goods- Stone Fence is known for their handmade crafts, specifically chainsaw carvings done by John.

Each year, they set up an outdoor grill with food (the best hamburgers around- my husband swears by this), pony rides for the kids, and music in addition to the show. This year the artists will be showing a variety of fine arts and crafts including jewelry, paintings, fine art prints, carvings, handmade woven baskets, hand-stretched Native American drums, sculpture artists, a blacksmith and art demonstrations.

Midnight in the Jungle

This miniature painting features a midnight city in glowing yellows, blues, reds and touches of metallic gold. Its one of the few ACEOs I've done that feature a cityscape.

From the Urban Jungle Collection: Living in a city can be an intense, spontaneous experience. They pulse with light and activity. Cities are industrious and busy by day. At night, their mystery and lushness come alive. A city can stimulation your passion and all of your senses. In the urban jungle series cityscapes, Pam captures the electric colors, the stunning skylines and the interesting architecture that can be found in a cityscape.
These paintings have wonderful pastel and jewel hues. You'll get a hint of whimsy, however, the artist added stark black lines and shimmering metallic acrylic paints to give them a modern, edgy feel. Pam's Urban Jungle Series paintings have been described as "Modern impressionism with a twist", and as "Colorful, Bold, and Joyful Masterpieces!” Her simple style is almost childlike but in reality, her paintings are carefully planned to be different from tradition impressionist paintings. The paintings in this series are done in both acrylics on canvas and watercolor/mixed-media on heavy watercolor paper. All of her paintings are ready to hang. Pamela uses quality framing or gallery wrapped canvases with the sides painted.
